In February of 2019 we once again embarked on an expedition style cruise with National Geographic / Lindblad on the National Geographic Venture, their newest ship launched summer 2018. The original itinerary had us exploring the east coast and the wildlife of the Baja peninsula and some of the islands in the Sea of Cortez (the Gulf of California) and then rounding Lands End and travelling up the west (Pacific) coast to Bahia Magdalena and San Ignacio. Once again weather seemed to be against us (see the NW Passage and Greenland trips) as strong winds and high seas kept us on the east side of the peninsula. We travelled overland from Puerto Escondido to Puerto San Carlos where local guides took us out in their pangas and we got up close to the Gray Whales and their calves. I've posted some of my still shots and a few shaky video links.
